Miss Universe Australia 2011 Scherri-Lee Biggs is generating controversy again.  First, it was her evening gown at Miss Universe 2011. Now, it is the Mossimo campaign she is in. Detractors says the campaign implies that peeping is ok. Beauty School does not understand the controversy, especially Boris, Beauty School's Security Guard. Peeping is a principal part of his job! He certainly gets his peep on each day! 

OSCARS 2012

This year's winner of Beauty School's 9.99 Evening Gown Award goes to an Oscar winner herself - Spain's Penelope Cruz. The original Giorgio Armani gown made her a movie goddess and the very definition of Oscar chic. She was perfectly coiffed and the diamonds were the perfect accessories. Take note Miss Spain 2011, Andrea Huisgen - a smiliar look, especially the hair, could work well for you at Miss Universe 2012. (Photos: Getty Images)

SUGARLOAF MOUNTAIN - MISTER ESPIRITO SANTO 2010

Unfortunately, Prof. Chandni's answer to the provocative question is no. But, she wouldn't mind if after spending one night with Mister Espirito Santo 2010 Jhony Monhol, she could answer yes. These days Jhony finds himself modeling and DJing in Manila, and Prof. Chandni is tying to get a teaching gig there for the summer semester.

GIDDY AS JULIA HERSELF!

The entire faculty and staff of Beauty School are as giddy as Julia Lemigova, Miss USSR* 1991, when Dick Clark announced her as one of the top three! We are giddy because Beauty School is in the top three of the 14th Global Beauties Awards, in the Media Related Awards category for Best Pageant Blog / Magazine. In fact, we are first runner-up! We actually did better that two of our favorite Miss Universe contestants during the "top three" years of 1990-2000 - Julia, of course, and Madhu Sapre, Miss India 1992, of course. Unlike Julia and Madhu, we must have answered Tricky Dick's final question better. Thank you, Global Beauties, for this accolade, and congrats to the winner, The Times of Beauty, and second runner-up La Esquina del Soplon!

*It is both heartening and disturbing that over 50% of this year's in-coming students could not identify at least one country that comprised the former USSR.

MISS SALZBURG 2012

The new Miss Salzburg 2012 is Marisa Gerhardter. She won the title last night. Runners-up were Teresa Verwanger and Stefanie Formmelt. A total of 16 women competed for the title.  

MISS COLOURS HUNGARY 2012

MISS GUYANA IS MISS INDIA WORLDWIDE 2012

Alana Seebarran of Guyana is the new Miss India Worldwide 2012. She was crowned by Bollywood actor Aftab Shivdasani at the climax of a glittering gala last night in Paramaribo, Suriname. Miss India Worldwide 2012 first runner-up was Kuwait's Anvita Sudarshan, and Miss India Worldwide 2012 second runner-up was Australia's Olivia Rose. 35 women competed for the coveted crown of this regal and storied diaspora pageant. ZEN ON SUNDAY

Miss Universe Jamaica 2009 Carolyn Yapp honoring the legacy of American actor Dorothy Dandridge, most famous for her role in the 1954 motion picture "Carmen Jones," for which she received an Academy Award nomination.  In another America, Dorothy would have won that Oscar. Thank goodness there is another America now.

Who will be the new Miss India Worldwide 2012? We will find out tonight. Thirty-five women of Indian origin are vying for the coveted title. BMOC 2012 IS...VIE!

And the new BMOC 2012 is Vietnam's Ngô Tiến Đoàn. Congratulations! He won the general election with 39% of the student body vote. Germany's  Uwe Schüder followed closely with 32% of the vote, and France's Sami Alliot received 28% of the vote.  With this election, Beauty School has its first BMOC titleholder from a non-European country. Ngô won the Mister International 2008 title, so this his is second "grand slam" title - at least this is what Dean Harris will issue in the press release. Also, Dean Harris looks forward to holding some very major stock in Ngô business, if you know what he means.
