MISS AUSTRIA 2010

Capping off a jammed-packed weekend of pageants around the world was Miss Austria 2010. Contestant No. 3 and Miss Miss Kärnten, Valentina Schlager, won the title and will represent Austria at Miss World 2010. Valentina's best friend, Vice-Miss Kärnten Mirja Roth, was named first runner-up. Second runner-up in the contest was Miss Tirol, Isabella Innerebner.

It has been a busy pageant day across the globe! From Europe to Africa to Asia! Crowned tonight in Durban, South Africa, as the new Miss India Worldwide 2010 was hometown girl Kajal Lutchminarain. The glittering gala was held at the Durban International Convention Centre. First runner-up in the pageant was Miss United Kingdom, Niharica Raizada. Second runner-up was Miss Suriname, Cher Marchand.

MISS UNIVERSE CROATIA 2010

The new Miss Universe Croatia 2010 is Lana Obad. She won the title tonight in Zagreb during a a glittering ceremony that included a Lady Gaga-inspired dance number with all of the contestants. First runner-up in the contest was Katarina Martinović; second runner-up was Doris Delić.

MISTER WORLD 2010

The new Mister World 2010 is Kamal Ibrahim of Ireland! Mister Czech Republic Josef Karas was named first runner-up, and Mister Nigeria Kenneth Okolie was named second runner-up. Rounding out the top five were Mister Netherlands Honza Jan Filipi and Mister Lebanon Abdul Rahman El Balaa.

Dominican Today, 16-mar-2010: Ada Aimée de la Cruz, Miss Universe Dominican Republic 2009 and first runner-up to Miss Universe 2009, has been tapped by the opposition PRD party as its candidate for vice mayor of the city Santo Domingo North. Ada Aimée de la Cruz accepted the candidacy today during a political rally in the Hotel Embajador, headed by PRD president Miguel Vargas. A local reporter summed up the beauty queen’s rise to stardom from humble roots when she won the local pageant, affirming that De la Cruz “arrived from Villa Mella in a tattered taxi and returned home in a Mercedes Limo.”

Editorial comment from Dean Harris: Let's just hope the Donald doesn't vote - or buy the votes - in this election. Otherwise, the white, European-looking girl will win, not Ada.

Mister World 2010 contestants get a workout on the beaches of Incheon, Korea. They endured a rigorous workout with Korean marines. Oh my! The new Mister World 2010 will be elected on 27 March 2010, at the Songdo Convention Center in Incheon. Beauty School faculty are watching this contest closely. Brazil has a new god. The new Mister Piauí 2010 is Heron Chaves. The 20 year-old model won the title this past weekend, in a glittering contest that also saw the crowning of Miss Teresina 2010.

VICTORIOUS IN VALENCIA

The new "guapo oficial" in Valencia is David Martí. He won the Mister Valencia 2009-2010 title this past weekend. David is 21 and stands 1m90. He served in the Spanish army and is now training for the police force. After winning the title, he said, "When I compete for the Mister Spain title, I'm going to give it all I've got. I'm going to fight for it till the end."
